So they go out, to his favorite nightclub.

All his friends hang out here, especially his ex-girlfriend, Xtina. Of course Gavin has to go ask her about her love-life.

Sometimes, Shay feels like she's part of some weird serial harem.

Sometimes, it's like she doesn't exist at all. This girl is his neighbor & for all Shay knows, she's one of Gavin's exes, too. Gavin wants to talk to her about the photo shoot he has to do tomorrow, one where he's the model, in his movie costume, for a magazine: it's technical photography jargon, Shay has no idea what they're talking about.

And when he's done with that, it's back to Xtina, who's obsessed with the character he's playing. It's like there's nowhere Shay can go that she is haunted by Gavin's former lovers.

At Xtina's request, Gavin gets on stage to sing. Shay doesn't bother to follow, she wonders if he'd even notice if she just called a cab & left.
