The video keeps getting weirder, but Nico just shows up, put on his costume & pretends to sing & play while the model dances.

Nicolas hasn't had any say in this production, the video has been all about Bill, obsessed with the idea that it's going to be a hit. "Girls love this stuff," Bill assures him, "I've got this model that looks like Jackie, the chicks will respond to that." Debbie's hair is black & her eyes are blue, and there is all the resemblance she bears to Jackie. Which is a good thing, because Nicolas doesn't like to be thinking about her while he's working on anything having to do with this heartbreaking song about infidelity.

Unbelievably, Mary comes in after the taping is over, immediately approaching the photographer. Nico stops paying attention to Bill, focusing completely on her. Of course, she's here for a photo shoot.

He wasn't listening to Bill at all, so he's surprised when the CEO throws his arms around him. "I'm going to my dressing room," Mary says to the photographer, her clear voice carrying through the studio, "I'll be ready for my shoot shortly." And she cast a glance at Nicolas that tells him to meet her there.

Nico gets away from Bill & slips into Mary's dressing room, right beside his.

All of their encounters are brief, but so deeply satisfying, the thrill of stealing forbidden pleasures in a semi-public place, the risk of exposure, Nico couldn't stop this if he wanted to.

Nico gets home not too late in the afternoon, but Jackie isn't in the house when he gets in. As he's about to go look for her on the beach, he sees the note, she went into labor & had the driver take her to the hospital. He rushes back out of the house, feeling like the worst possible excuse for man, making love to another woman while his daughter is being born.
