But Shay doesn't have any attention for Gavin when she's addressed by model/actress Jade, who is here to be fitted for her costume for her brief role in this film. The break ends hardly before it has begun, and Alison tells the everyone they have 2 minutes to be on set.

Just two minutes...it would have been enough time for one more kiss from Shay, who seemed about take advantage of that time before following Jade to her costume fitting area. But it's Astrid who comes into his waiting arms, saying "You've been doing such a great job, Gavin, I'm so proud of you." It's like she's undergone a complete turnaround. Joy floods Gavin heart, loving nothing more than seeing anger & hatred washed away & turned to friendship. But Astrid's timing is awful, showing him any kind of affection in front of Shay is going to bring him enormous trouble.

It happens so fast, Astrid is out of his arms and heading back to the set before he tastes her kiss. As she turns away, her perfume reaches his brain, sparking a deep sense memory, and Gavin stands staring dumbly as he relives a moment of passion he shared with Astrid, while Shay looks on, her expression beyond mere rage. Alison calls out for the cast to get back on set: that means him. There's nothing he can say to Shay about this now, it will have to wait for later. Now he has to forget this, and get on with the acting. But his acting falls flat for the rest of the shoot, too worried about how angry Shay is about this.

Doing this film has changed both their lives, while Gavin has struggled with his unhealed issues with Astrid, Shay has launched her new career & is making friends in the industry. Gavin hardly saw it happening, but Shay & the make-up artist Chloe became close friends & are now sharing an apartment in the Griffith Park area. They all return to Shay's place after the shoot: though Gavin made a point of not touching Astrid at all when saying goodbye, Shay is still obviously pissed at him.

"I'm really tired of this crap with your ex-girlfriends all the time, Gavin," Shay says. She's not even waiting to finish eating & get into her room for a private argument: this isn't going to go well, Gavin sees.
