When she's doing her best acting, Astrid forgets everything except her character. Gavin seems to have found his character now, too, and she cannot help but feel the sisterly affection Death has for Dream as Gavin speaks his lines.

The film would be going perfectly if it weren't for the fact that Byron has lost interest in his own project: his disappeared mysteriously for a few days & then just as mysteriously reappeared with this strange new actress he's devoted himself to, and he's developing a new project just for her leaving, leaving Alison to handle his Sandman movie. All Astrid wanted from him was a bigger part in his next movie, how this new bitch came out of nowhere and snatched even that out of grasp.

As though she read Astrid's thoughts, Byron's new lover/actress suddenly snarls, "Mine!" and slaps Astrid in the face.

Byron didn't even see the exchange, too busy telling Alison she has to leave him alone & take full control of this movie so he can focus on his new project. Astrid clearly has no chance with him now, and can only hope this Sandman movie will be completed & released, so she can finally have that shot at fame which she so deserves. For a moment, Astrid wonders if seducing Alison would help her any, since her former over is now the de facto director of this film. But she quickly decides it wouldn't be worth it, even if she seduced her, all she would get from it would be the admittedly awesome sex; Alison doesn't give out special favors even to her lovers.
