Alison

They stop by a video place & pick up one of Byron's films that Alison worked on, and while Alice gets some food going in the kitchen, Alison sets up the DVD. An awkward quiet looms over them as the opening credits roll. Alison wonders if she should have selected the "Director's Commentary", though she doesn't really need to hear Byron's voice right now, it would at least be someone saying something.

"I don't think I should," Alison says, pushing Alice away gently. Alice says it's okay, and they resume the awkward quiet film watching. "It's just that I have a girlfriend, and I'm too busy even for her," Alison says, and Alice says it's cool.

"I think you better check on the food: it smells like something might be burning."

The late dinner isn't too badly burnt, and Alison picks up her stride agaoin, talking comfortably about her work in the movie industry.

"Give me a call sometime," Alice says as she hugs Alison goodbye.

I don't have time for this, Alison reminds herself as she rushes out to her car, I'm supposed to be making a movie.
