Simlogical Classic Sims 2 Build Mode
![]() |
INSTITUTIONAL LOOKING DOORS ijInstitutionalDoorNoHack.zip (no behaviour modification)
This is a non-hacked custom mesh door, which matches my hacked prison door. Typical of institutions or offices, with narrow glazing panels. 6 colours included in package, and recolourable. Suitable for all games |
||
Sims 2 Clothes-Change Doors
Although these are only fully compatible up to the stated EP, they should work with any later game. They just won’t do everything that an updated door would do.

CLOTHES CHANGE CONTROLLER ijClothesToken.zip (no globals)
Place in room or rooms that you wish your Sims to change before entering. Use the menu to choose which outfit Sims should change into and whether NPCs should also change. |
||
CLOTHES CHANGE DOOR PATCH ..\Sims2Downloads\Sims2_Doors\ClothesChangeDoors\ijClothesPatch.zip (contains replacement globals)
This is an optional global patch which will make most normal (non-hacked) doors into outfit changing doors. Does not work reliably on diagonal doors. |
|||
|
CLOTHES CHANGE AND SECURITY DOOR ijSecurityDoorWalnut.zip (no globals)
For players who do not wish to use a global patch for any reason. This door is dual purpose and acts as the non-global door for the Security (Apartment) System too |

Sims 2 Windows
New mesh windows and recolours

Metal recolours of the OFB shop windows OFBwindowrecolPolMetals.zip (just a normal recolour)
All three are in the one zip, but each colour is a separate package file so you can delete the ones you don’t want after unzipping. There is a polished brass, a polished steel and a polished aluminium. Each file recolours the entire set (3-tile window, 1-tile window, door and the ones with the louvres above) |
||
![]() |
UK-sized sash-style windows ijLargerBreezeasy.zip (new mesh, no behaviour modification)
I think these are replacement (uPVC) windows rather than the original timber, cos I made the frames a bit slim. But they’re the right size to fit into our typical front room windows. They don’t open. |

Sims 2 Half Landing Stairs
Click on file links to download:
![]() |
This is a normal (non-modular) staircase for if you want a half landing without using dummy levels or warped walls. I designed it specially for my smaller cottage-style homes.
If you want to place the stairs one above another for multiple floors, download the invisible wall recolour for the higher staircases. I assume everyone already knows that custom non-modular stairs rarely have working animations. Your sim will begin in the right place and end in the right place, and sort of zap between them without walking. You will need to use move_objects to place the stairs in some positions. |

Sims 2 Winding Stairs
Click on file links to download:
![]() |
This is a normal (non-modular) staircase with winders at the top and the bottom. The sim starts and ends where you would expect for the shape of these stairs so you can build your walls accordingly, but he does get there a little bit funny (if you look carefully at one time you can see him come through the landing floor. But it happens so fast it needn’t spoil your enjoyment.
The banisters are the upwardly mobile. There are no railings going up the wall side, as the stairs are meant to go against a wall, so the ones at the bottom go down when you use the tool to remove the left railings, and the ones up the edge are counted as the right railings. You’ll have to use move_objects cheat to place the stairs. |
![]() |
Poly count = no more than Maxis stairs. ijWindersCW_um.zip Stairs turn clockwise
ijWindersAC_um.zip Stairs turn anticlockwise ijStairsMatchingfence.zip Sunni Sims’ fence coloured to exactly match the colour and height of the stair rails. Only the clockwise stairs are illustrated |
Sims 2 Wallpaperable Stair Walls
Click on file links to download:
![]() |
Actually this download isn’t walls at all, it’s windows!
These are wall cutouts with a recolourable trim, to cut the walls out at graduated staircase height, which leaves the lower part of the wall only showing. And of course you can paint or paper that wall to match your others. ijStairwall5snip smooths out where the openings go through floor level, because otherwise a corner of the lower wall sticks through them. |
![]() |
I have also made quite a large set of recolours, pretty much one to match each Maxis staircase, since when these are assembled the trim looks like part of the staircase mouldings. You can delete the unwanted colours from within the game, but don’t delete the green one as that will also delete the mesh!
To recolour, choose the ijStairwall1; all the others take their colours from that one. ijStairwall_recolours.zip |
Sims 2 Fake floors/landings
Click on file links to download:
![]() |
These “landing” objects allow you to get rid of the warped walls and unlevel floors for the situations when it is important to have your wallpaper and windows undisturbed. They allow your sim to assume there is some floor he can walk on, even when you have levelled the floor back down and removed the floor tiles that are visually at the wrong level. Please note, at each fake landing your sim will briefly drop to the level of the real floor grid before jumping back up and carrying on using the stairs. You need to weigh up the pros and cons – form.v.function How to use these items
This zip contains the meshes. The colour with the main mesh is bright green so you will know which one is the mesh and can avoid deleting it accidentally ijFakefloors.zip
![]() The pack contains two types of object – the landing slab itself, and a set of optional cosmetic infills for underneath if you are using stairs that have stair walls. These can occupy the same tile as each other. |
![]() |
Here are some recolours: chic, steadfast, deck, country and concrete. ijFakefloorRecols.zip
To create your own recolour, use ijFakefloorRepository.package. A recolour for that will work for all this set of objects. To make a new set of meshes using the same recolours, copy the file for each of the heights, fix integrity and give it a new GUID. To make a new object not using the same recolours, clone the repository object in Object Workshop, then make slave objects of your new repository object if you wish, or make them all unrelated objects that need recolouring separately. |
Sims 2 Stair Runners
Click on file links to download:
![]() |
The point of this object is to make it possible for your stair carpet to match your hall carpet. Does not fit modular stairs. The rods and the carpet are separately recolourable. This set of runners is based on the “repository” technique which means if you make a recolour for the straight runner, it will act as a recolour for all the runners. YOU MUST HAVE THE STRAIGHT RUNNER in your downloads or none of the colours will work. |
|
ijStairRunner.zip For straight Maxis stairs – compulsory element. .ijStairRunnerHLCW.zip For the half-landing stairs
ijStairRunnerWindersCW.zip For the clockwise winders ijStairRunnerWindersAC.zip For the anti-clockwise winders |
You can easily make your own too, just use Homecrafter to export the floor texture you want to use, which should be 256×256 for a single-tile pattern. If it is a pattern that is spread over more than one tile, Homecrafter will give you a larger image size containing the whole pattern. You need to cut out of it the 256×256 portion you want centred up the staircase.

Black and white traditional check floor with borders
This is an entire set of floor sections that you can arrange in any way to make a checked floor with borders, or any other pattern. Because they are scattered around in the floors catalogue, I have also included a ready made collection file so you can easily view them all together. In fact as we get more and more user-made items, I recommend assembling all your favourite items by the collection method, so you don’t have to often resort to wading through the Maxis stuff you don’t like in the main catalogue! NB you do not need to install the collection file I made at all; it’s entirely optional.
NB: With later EPs you will not need to keep all the floor tiles, as they can be rotated to make your pattern.
INSTALLATION
These walls and floors are in the normal .package format and have proper names! After unzipping, place simlogicalBWcheckCollection.package in My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Collections (optional – you can use the floors without the collection file) and place the whole folder called simlogicalBWcheckfloor under My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads.

Sims 2 Bathroom Walls and Floors
INSTALLATION
These walls and floors are all made using Homecrafter, and are in the Sims2pack format. So after downloading you only have to unzip them then double-click on them and the Sims 2 installer will put them in the right place.
