Justin & Eleanor leave, Kira & Gavin have disappeared into the crowd, and Xtina is alone with Coby again. The 'just friends' thing is a total pretense, she knows it deep down. She comes out with him becauses she misses him, because she loves him. Stupid as that is.

She hasn't kissed him in a while, but she hasn't forgotten how good it was. She wonders if she has time to sneak Coby in & out of her apartment before Rainier gets home, or if that's just too risky. "Let's go grab something to eat," he says, as ever, completely umromantic.

So they go out & get some sushi.

It's completely reckless, but as Xtina is kising Coby goodnight outside the sushi box, she tells Coby she wants to go back to his place for awhile. "If I drive fast I can make it to Venice & back before it's completely implausibly late, Rainier will never know," she says, smiling as she kisses his nose. Coby sighs, and tells her no. "You said the blonde neighbor chick blew you off," Xtina pouts. "It's not that, Ti," Coby says, a deep heaviness in his voice, "You mess with my head, Ti. I don't want you coming over & going back to him...I'll drop everything for you, Ti, but you have to drop yours, too." Xtina never imagined Coby would ever say no to sex, under whatever circumstances, and she decides she's not sober enough to understand the implications of that.
