When Eleanor's parents come to town, Xtina gets invited to a BBQ in Echo Park to meet them. Of course Rainier is invited, he got along so well with everyone. Xtina has been wanting a way to get back at Eeanor for showing off her intelligence to Rainier at the last BBQ, and she has the perfect plan. As soon as she arrives, Eleanor tells her she wore her outfit just to be shocking. It's only partly true, Xtina just likes to look her best, which is usually a little shocking.

Eleanor's mother approaches to meet her. Xtina first tells her how fabulous her god-awful dress is, and that she has a fabulous sense of style. Then, she starts reciting one of Eleanor's mother's poems. It was a favorite of Gavin's, and Xtina loved to imitate him, reciting his favorite poems, and then tease him by creating 'alternate' versions that would make him squirm & blush. Now it is Eleanor's turn to squirm, afraid Xtina will recite an 'alternate' version to her mother. But it gets even better, Xtina's rendition is dead-on Gavin at his best, all fired up with love of the beauty of words. The Mombeast is incredibly impressed, "Bless you, child, that was perfect!" she enthuses, looking at Eleanor disdainfully "I wish Eleanor could recite poetry with the same energy & spirit as you have." Xtina shoots a 'gotcha' smile at Eleanor, steaming angrily, and runs off to find Rainier, mission accomplished.

Gavin is not around for this BBQ, that must be a bummer for him, Xtina thinks, with his favorite poet here and all. It's too bad, because she likes seeing him, it's like picking at a scab, you shouldn't do it, it'll only bleed, but you just can't help yourself...But today she just has Rainier. Sexy as he is, it just isn't enough.

Xtina has barely talked to Kira since she dropped out of school, and takes the chance to catch up. She has all night to hang with Rainier. While she's chatting with Kira, she just about misses a major blowup between Eleanor & her Mom, which ends with the mother storming off, saying she'll cut Eleanor off. Eleanor & Justin head off to his room, and the BBQ ends on a sour note. Even Rainier is grumpy on the ride back to Hollywood.
