Xtina & Gavin share a taste for the kind of head trippy science fiction Byron Palisades is known for. Though 'Stigmata' didn't do great box office, it has a hard core cult following that includes even Miss Crumplebottom, apparently.

Xtina doesn't push Gavin away when he puts his arm around her, but she keeps herself from encouraging any further attempts at affection and they sit & watch in silence both the movie that they both know by heart, & the lesbian couple a few rows up from them, making out, in love & oblivious to the world, like Gavin & Xtina have been & done in this very theater.

After the movie, they go out for some Indian food: if Xtina is going to to be 'doing something' on Christmas, she wants it to be as untraditional as possible. Gavin's been pretty good all night, but now he lets himself go with the lover's talk, repeating how much they belong together, how much he cannot live without her, everything she's heard before.

"Please, Gavin, I broke up with you & I meant it. We can't be friends if you don't stop that shit."

It's like he doesn't even hear her! But she doesn't walk out on him, either...she keeps letting him hang around, singing his heartbroken song...Xtina does not go home with Gavin tonight, but when she falls asleep, he is in her thoughts & in her dreams.
