Gavin makes it through the scene without breaking down, but it goes badly & they do it over until late into the night. The hours on this job are a killer, but Shay is living her dream & she's dedicated to it. When they get back to his place, Gavin tries to make an explanation about all that drama between him and Astrid. He can't really explain, of course, because he's too messed up to understand it himself. Shay laughs & taks his hands. "You fall in love too hard & do crazy things. Now you're in this mess because you wanted to help me out...I know you're not trying to get with Astrid. But you've got issues with her, and I'm going to keep my eye on her." she says.

"I love you, Shay," he says as he lifts her up. The way he looks at her, the way he treats her, he makes her feel special, like a goddess. He laughs and says he's too tired to make love, for the first time in his life. Shay can believe that, and laughs with him, saying there's always the morning. It's already so late & they have to get up so early.

On the set the next day, Shay runs into Astrid having some lunch. Gavin is in make up or something, no one else is around. Shay would rather sit alone, but it would be intensely rude. Expecting either outright bitchiness or fake friendliness from the actress, Shay is surprised that Astrid speaks very professionally about the movie.

A genuinely nice person, Shay has warmed up to Astrid again by the time they're done eating, and chats with her easily.

Suddenly, Astrid falls onto her knees, clutching her hands over her breasts dramatically, "Shay, I hope you can forgive me for being so mean to Gavin in front of you last night..I was just so upset about my scene..it was so late, and I was so tired, I just kind of exploded.."

"It's okay, Astrid, I forgive you," Shay replies, her 'nice' instinct taking over before she can even think about it. "This movie business is real stressful, I understand."

That night's shooting goes on until very late again. Shay spent the time in the costume area, working on designs, so she didn't watch the filming, didn't see Gavin perform. Apparently they will have to do the scene again, but nothing upsetting happened. It's late when they get back to Gavin's place, but they aren't drained like last night, after that big scene in the dressing room. Shay puts on her lingerie and cuddles up to Gavin, stroking his chest. "Gavin?" she asks, "When you become a big star, will you still want to be with me?" He laughs at the idea of becoming a star. To Shay, it's an obvious fact. "You are the star of a really big Hollywood production. And you have 'it', Gavin. Think about it, a huge director like Byron Palisades picked you off the street, because he knows 'it' when he sees it. When you get put up on the screen, you are going to be huge. You are going to have girls all over you, you could have anyone you want..." she says.

He sweeps her down in one of his deep kisses, and tells her the only thing she wanted to hear. "If I could have any girl I want, I want you, Shay," he says.
