Astrid drops by Shay's place: she says she was heading out to the Good Luck bar, and wanted to wear something cool. Could Shay hook her up with something special? "I want to celebrate getting my first major role wearing something glamorous," she says.

It's easy enough to find something to fit Astrid's needs. Shay's main goal in life has been to dress actresses. Somehow, this isn't quite what she imagined. But then, none of it has been what she imagined at all.

"So," Astrid says, tossing her hair, "I take it you're 'with' Gavin? That's what they're saying.." Shay shrugs defensively, "Yeah, I'm with him, but I'm doing my job, I'm not getting any favors...." Astrid rolls her eyes & laughs, "Relax, I'm just asking, because that's something we have in common..I used to be 'with' Gavin, too. Didn't he tell you that? He's usually so forthright..." "Oh," Shay says, stupefied. "He didn't mention it."

"Hmm," Astrid hums. "Is that locket you're wearing from him? I bet he had Lord Byron engraved on it, 'She walks in beauty, like the night'," Astrid laughs, her eyes rolling. "He's so predictable." Shay just stands in shock as Astrid goes on about Gavin. Embarassed enough that Gavin didn't warn her about it, having to hear how he buys all his girlfriends that same engraved locket he gave her for Valentine's really get Shay wondering about her relationship & her man.

Then Astrid drops the subject altogether, instead praising Shay's skills as a costume designer. "You are just fabulous," she says, hugging Shay, "And I just know we'll be great friends." Shay thinks while they might be a little out of touch with reality sometimes, Hollywood people don't deserve their cold & manipulative reputation. They have all been nothing but nice to her.

The first day of shooting brings butterflies to Shay's stomach. Astrid is practicing with herself in the mirror, everyone else just does what they do, while Shay works on the unfinished Lucifer costume. It's like a normal job, but kind of surreal...how weird will it be to go to the movies & see this when it's done? And what about Gavin, he'll be a star once this film is released. Shay will have what she always wanted, her career in costume design, but what about her man?
