It's like some kind of miracle: every costume she makes is better than the last. She's gone from working retail to living her dream job & actually being a real success at it. Half the time, Gavin isn't even around for it, until the movie actually starts shooting, his costume photo sessions are done, and Shay feels all the more like this is her real job, not something handed to her as a favor to him.

And she's making new friends in the Industry: Byron's assistant Alison has been real friendly with her & now she's teamed up with Chloe, the make up artist, who has also been more than pleasant.

The worst experience so far is Ruben, trying to impress her that he works in the film business. Well, duh! But Alison has already warned her about him, he hits on everyone. But before he dismisses them for the day, Byron makes a point of saying she & Chloe did a great job, which makes Shay feel really great about herself. After she spends a few more hours with Chloe, working out their design ideas for the Lucifer & his demons characters, Shay is finally able to go home, exhausted but extremely satisfied.

It's pretty late when she gets home: Gavin is waiting for her..Damn, she forgot she was supposed to meet him tonight. She spent too much time with Chloe. "I'm sorry, Gavin," she apologizes, "This job is really demanding, it's like I can't even make a date: I never know when I'll get home," she explains.

Shay forces herself to eat the dinner, now cold, that he made for her. She just had dinner with Chloe, but she's already hurt Gavin's feelings enough for one night.....
