Serena

Unable to sleep that night, kept awake by thoughts of Byron, strange premonitons & feelings of guilt, Serena is a little snappish & unsympathetic to Hayley, a young college student come first thing in the morning to find out if her 'boyfriend' is cheating on her. Serena is feeling a growing dread rising in her, she feels like something has happened to Byron, but she doesn't sense anything specific. Is it possible she's just over-tired & stressed, and worrying about nothing like regular people do?

Serena is not concentrating on the poor young blonde or her sad story about a new neighbor she's fallen in love with, who says he didn't have sex with the dark-haired girl he took up to his apartment with him during a party. Usually Serena can see the people her clients are talking & thinking about very vividly, but all Serena can see today is Byron. "Love isn't a matter of who is sleeping with who," Serena tells the girl, trying to give helpful regular advice, since she doesn't seem up to her usual abilities. "If you & this boy really are in love, then he wouldn't lie to you & you wouldn't have to worry about it."

Hayley breaks down & cries. "I'm sorry," Serena apologizes sadly, "The sight isn't with me today, I'm not able to tell you anything about your friend. Perhaps if you come back another day.."

Serena feels terrible letting the girl go without having helped her. Serena's mission, after all, is to help people. But her strange feelings about Byron are growing more urgent with every second, and she is quite sure it is not just her imagination.

Though she's supposed to meet Byron on the set later this morning, Serena drives out to Byron's house, her feelings of foreboding driving her on. When she gets there, she finds a worried pair of assisstants, Alison & Ruben, who were supposed to meet Byron here. But he's not here. "It's just like when he flew off to Nepal," Alison sighs, "But that was during post production: I've never known him to flake on his film during a shoot..."

Serena goes upstairs & looks around, though she doesn't expecting he's hiding somewhere up here. It just seems so strange. His dog, Grok, is in Byron's studio, where's he's taken a piss.

"Bad dog!" Serena scolds him. She's more of a cat person.

But then she feels bad for the poor dog & gets on her knees to pet him. As she touches him, she feel the poor thing's fear: he knows something is wrong with his master...Serena gets up & goes back downstaris to talk to Alison. They've both looked around the house & found nothing to say where he went. So they decide to go to the shoot: it wouldn't be unusual for him to forget he wanted to meet with Alison & Ruben at his house & has gone off somewhere else. If he doesn't show up for the shoot itself, then they'll really have to worry.
