After the club closes, they go back to Gavin's place in Echo Park. The house is alight with activity: his housemates are mostly nightowls like himself. And there is the appetizing aroma of a meal being cooked: Justin must have just come home himself. "Are you hungry?" Gavin asks Shay, "Because it smells like Justin is cooking & he's an awesome cook..." Shay kind of shrugs and says she doesn't want to intrude on his housemates & eat their food, which makes Gavin laugh. He's glad he's brought her home, it is more than time that she's met the 'family'. "Justin always cooks enough for 6 people, even when he's alone, Shay. He would consider it an insult if we don't eat with him, now that we're here." As though to confirm Gavin assertion, Justin pops his head out the kitchen door, "Gavin, are you here? You aren't going to bed until you try this, it's a new recipe!" So they dance to kill some time before the meal is finished.

Justin is of course thrilled to be feeding Gavin's new girl, and Zach comes home from work just in time to grab a plate while it's hot. Where's Diego? Still out, who knows, but they tell him Diego has a new name for Gavin, since he's been so scarce around here lately: Gavin, the friendly ghost. "Well," Gavin laughs, "you understand why I prefer Shay's company to yours. She doesn't make fun of me."

Gavin's been saving this for the right moment. "Happy Valentine's Day, my beloved," he says as he hands her his present.

Shay is thrilled with the locket, inscribed with the opening lines of his favorite poem by Lord Byron, 'She walks in beauty, like the night....' "But I didn't get you anything, Gavin," she says.

"Don't you know you are my gift?" he says to her, and kisses her passionately.
