The surfing is indeed awesome, Coby rides some very huge waves. He doesn't catch the biggest wave, so he isn't the winner, but he's had one of the best surfing days of his life. He even got asked a couple of questions by some media people, Coby was so high from the rush of surfing at the time he had no idea who the people with the cameras and microphones were.

Tanner is not as interested in reliving the day. "Dude, let's party. Let's go to the bar & score some babes." Coby shakes his head. "Not up for it," he says. Tanner stands in shock, mouth open, then he laughs. "You're kidding, right?" Coby shakes his head again, "No, not kidding. My girlfriend might be breaking up with me and I'm just not up for it," he says. Tanner gives him a quizzical look, "Dude, if she's going to blow you off anyway, forget about her... C'mon, we'll have fun." Coby laughs, "I know, I should," he says, "But I'm just going to chill in the tent, ride on the day's surfing. You didn't ride anything as sweet as I did, Tanner, so you need a consolation prize," Coby laughs. Tanner shakes his head, "All right, Dude, I'll see you in the morning," he says as he heads off for the bar. And Coby does go back to his tent to chill and recall the glorious day of surfing Mavericks.

Coby thinks about Ti during the whole drive back to Hollywood. When he walks through the front door, he sees her sitting at the computer. His her heart leaps into his throat & his stomach knots up: is she still his girl? Has she already moved on? "Coby," she exclaims as she sees him come in. "I'm so glad you're home!" She throws her arms around him and hugs him tight. Coby starts to breathe normally. "I'm happy to see you, too, Ti," he says.

Coby tells her about the surfing. "It was incredible, Ti," he enthuses. Ti smiles at him, but there's a troubling look in her eyes. "What's up with you, Ti?" he asks.

Ti's smile breaks & she collapses in front of him, "Coby, I slept with him, I slept with Rainier while you were gone," she cries. The blow hits him hard & he is just about on his knees with her. But he puts his arms around her and lifts her up.

"So are you done with him now, or are you done with me?" Coby asks bluntly. He's jealous as hell, but he's behaved far worse himself in the past, and is resolved to take this in stride. She looks away and her eyes start to well up. "I'm so sorry," she whispers, and she starts to sob while she speaks, her shoulders shaking, "I love you so much Coby, but I can't stay away from him, I'm so sorry,"

"Ti," he says, "Do you know you've never said you love me until now, while you're breaking up with me?" Xtina nods, sobbing & crying like she did over her last boyfriend. "Don't do this to yourself, Ti," he whispers, "I love you, too, you know. So I'm still your friend. Do what you have to do, I'm still around if you need a friend, okay?" She nods, crying on unrelentingly. Coby has managed to hold his own emotions in while he tries to help Ti with hers, but this is breaking his heart, and that is a new kind of pain for him. "I'm going to go unpack," he sighs, turning away from her. She's not my girl anymore, he thinks as he walks up the stairs to his apartment, trying to get used to the feeling.
