For the first time in her life, Alison has been given control of a major motion picture. She would love to just run with it, make the movie that will jump start her career, get her out from under Byron & into her own director's chair. But she's worked for him since she graduated NYU & moved to L.A. She can't just leave him to be used by the weird bitch actress. So as soon she gets on the Sandman set, she lies & tells him she needs his help, that the actors need 'his' direction. She pries him away from Odessa long enough to get him sit through a shoot.

The cast has two directors, each trying to dump control onto the other's lap, each refusing to take the reins. The scene dissolves into chaos.

When Odessa comes onto the scene, it's over. She walks onto the set like it's hers, right in front of the cameras. She goes right by Byron & straight to Astrid. Very strange, Alison thinks, wondering if she, too, had once had an affair with the young actress. Gavin walks off the set, muttering something about how he could be at a BBQ with the world's greatest living poet right now & that this was the stupidest thing he'd ever done. Byron gets up from his chair and looks sternly at Alison, "I need you to get control of this Alison. I don't have time, I can't be distracted from working on Odessa's vehicle. If you don't think you can handle this, I'll have to turn it over to Ruben," he says.

Alison chokes back the expletive that rises in her throat. Let Ruben take over? Not likely. She tried to help Byron, but he obviously won't be helped. "I can handle it Byron. I wanted to be sure you were ready to give it up," she tells him, and her attention is suddenly diverted as Odessa slaps Astrid in the face. What the hell happened there?

"You'll do a great job Alison. I'll review your dailies, I promise," he says, "I'm going to go work with Odessa now." Yes, Alison thinks, get your crazy bitch off my set before she drives off the whole cast. "Ruben, tell Gavin to get his ass back up here, we're shooting a movie...," she says as Byron takes Odessa by the arm & leads her away from the set. If there is a way to make him snap out of it, Alison has no clue what it is.
