Alison

They shoot for a few more hours: Gavin keeps his cool & doesn't try to kiss Astrid, but his acting is more than a little off. They will be reshooting this for sure. Alison finally gets home at 3am, and snuggles up to Kelly, sleeping curled on her side of the bed. Alison only gets a few hours sleep, waking near dawn to start the next's day's work. Kelly gets up early too, and always makes a really awesome breakfast: Alison makes a mental note to do something nice for Kelly to thank her for all this. "Umm, Alison?" Kelly peeps, "We need to talk." Alison's heart sinks into her stomach with her breakfast. "Okay," she says hesitantly. Nothing good ever comes from 'we need to talk'. "I haven't been real happy about my work situation, so I've, um, sent out some resumes. I've been offered an internship with a vet who just opened his own practice in Mar Vista," Kelly says, her words all rushed together. Alison lets out a huge sigh of relief: she's not getting dumped, her boss' dog is. "That's great, Kelly," Alison says encouragingly. "The thing is, Ali, I'll actually be making less money with this, because it's an internship. Eventually, if his practice gets big enough, I can be hired full time, or I'll have experience to get a job in another vet's office...but in the meantime, I won't be able to make my share of the rent." Kelly keeps her eyes on her plate as she speaks, afraid to look up. "Kelly, you were the one that insisted on paying half the rent in the first place...you don't have to pay at all as far as I'm concerned. I make more than enough to cover it," Alison says. Kelly sighs, "I don't want to be dependent on you Alison," she says, "Like I was dependent on my husband..." Alison looks at her watch, she hasn't got time for this now.

Alison comes round to Kelly's side of the table and lifts her out of her chair, "Baby, you've got an opportunity to do what you want in life. Don't let some crap like that stop you. You're not 'dependent' on me, I'm just handling the rent for now. Okay?" she says, looking at her very seriously. She wishes she weren't already running late, she really has to go...her girl needs some talking to, a little encouraging, but Alison can't be here, now.

"I wish I could stay & celebrate with you, Kelly, baby, but I've got to run," Alison says, kissing Kelly as hard as she can, the last kiss she'll have for hours. She high tails it out to her car, turning in the doorway to take one last glance at Kelly before starting her workday.
