"Alison, I was wondering, if I could talk to you...about Astrid," Gavin says to Alison, finding her amazingly alone for a moment in wardrobe. Alison swallows hard, looking furtively round for an escape route, but she's stuck here. "Listen, I didn't know about you when I was with her. I found out the same way you did," she says to him, rushing the words. Of course, if she had known Astrid had had a guy on the other side, Alison wouldn't really have cared, but that's all water under the bridge now. Gavin's beautiful face wrinkles in a wince that is still achingly handsome: if he could just be made to act, Alison thinks, she would so love to direct him. He wants to know how Alison can bear to work with Astrid, knowing it was all a lie. Alison barks out a laugh, and immediately feels bad about it, it's just so hard to take him seriously sometimes. "I was never in love with Astrid, Gavin. I never considered her my 'girlfriend' per se, so it's not like the whole thing was "a lie", for me. It was just, you know..." she says, looking for a way out of the conversation. Where the hell is everyone? "I was in love with her, and I thought she loved me too. She said she did...." he tells her, his voice catching in the end.

Alison can barely remember Astrid as a lover, let alone imagine being this broken up about her after so much time. "Hey, listen," Alison says, trying to be reassuring, "The thing with girls like Astrid is, you have to realize, it's all always an act. You weren't in love with her, you were in love with the part she was playing for you. It probably wasn't even the same part she was playing for me..When you go up to do the balcony scene tonight, that girl isn't the Astrid you knew, that girl never existed. She isn't even the 'real' Astrid, she's Death. She's your favorite sister. She believes it, because she's a great actress, she really is. You have to believe it, too. Or we're never going to finish this movie." Alison hopes he can get himself together for this scene soon. Because there are a lot more to be shot before this film is finished.

But it is not to be tonight, Gavin's acting lacks..everything. They try over & over until late in the night & finaly get home knowing they have to do the whole thing over again.

Alison overhears a little exchange the next day between Gavin, Astrid & Shay. Alison doesn't know what Astrid is up to, but she decides to keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn't sabotage the film just to play some weird game on her ex-boyfriend.

Something happened with Gavin overnight it seems. Tonight he's blossomed into the great actor Byron saw while he was out on the street, the perfect Dream, poetically sensitive, deadly handsome & tragic. Byron has his scene shot at an earlier than usual hour and the crew can actually get some sleep tonight.
