It begins a new pattern for Adam, using sex to avoid talking.

Like some twisted honeymoon, like it was when they first got together..except now Adam feels dirty & guilty, and every touch is tainted. He hopes, once this party is done, he'll get a part & that part will be enough to springboard him to the next role without having to go through this again.

The party comes & Christine immediately pulls Adam out to the smoking area. Christine tells him they've decided to do Pirates of the Caribbean as a rock opera & they'll want the lead roles to actually play guitar on stage. So, they won't be able to consider him for a major part, however Christine is sure she can get him a smaller part, where he won't need to play an instrument.

Adam put himself out for her & that's all he gets. But he knows he couldn't really expect more & this is actually a really great opportunity. It will be a major show & while he won't star in it now, just being on a real stage, instead of a commercial set, will be a big step up.

Christine is then done with him for the evening & attaches herself to Gerry...the bitch has gotten himself a role in a new sitcom pilot, and he thinks he's the shit. And so does Christine, so she's laying her stuff on him like she did with Adam. And Gerry is such a whore, he eats it up.
