These are some typical British-style bedroom fitments. I have tried to
introduce space-saving features where possible.
Back views of all units are the same height as the chest of drawers so that
you can have units all round the room without blocking your view.

When the bed is made, it folds into the cupboard
and the Sims can use the floor space to walk over. You can't put
furniture on the three tiles though.

If you want to use a different bed, you can still have that fitted look
by linking the units with these top box bridging units |

Cloned from original bathroom medicine cabinet
so can be used for cleaning teeth or charisma. This is a high level unit
that can sit on the same tile as the vanity basin or any other lower level
unit to make one full-height unit. |

Corner unit going the other way. Sorry could
not get sprites lined up perfectly in rear and side views, especially in
smaller zooms. Probably not quite the right shape to start with.
Anyway, here it is if you want it :D |

Always-open desk. Particularly suitable

2004 fixed to stop animals walking through desk.
Drop-flap desk. This opens and shuts
dynamically when objects are placed on it or picked up. Sims may eat
at this. Blocks side of bed. File includes chair. |
|
|
|
|
|
Chair included in file with drop-flap desk.
Disappears when not in use and leaves floor space free to walk over.
If you're not sure whether you placed chair the right way round, get a Sim
to sit in it as soon as you have placed it. |
|
|
|
|
|
Sims use chair autonomously to read or relax,
and - if used with drop-flap desk - also to eat at. Won't
autonomously use for watching TV or playing computer (shows "no chair"
thought bubble), but can be overcome if you instruct them to sit first
(click on invisible object when you see the little star!) and then tell them
to use the TV or computer once sitting. Cloning advice: If you clone the
chair, it will make it less likely the Sim will be able to use it to eat at
the desk. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Identical in appearance to the roll-away chair,
but this one stays out and visible all the time (takes up floor space) and
can be used by Sims for anything the disappearing one gives them problems
with. |

File of three "clutter" objects to make the
units look lived in. Invisible at the back. Only suitable for
use with the tall units as they are trimmed to fit the sides.
These are objects that co-exist on the same tile as the furniture and do not
use up space on the surface. 14th Sept
2004 trimmed properly so they will go on either wood grain or white units. |

Stereo in cabinet the same size as the chest of
drawers. Cabinet closes when turned off. This was cloned from the
Super Star stereo, on a Makin' Magic platform, so there may be EP issues.
Let me know if it doesn't work for you then I can label it appropriately. |

TV in cabinet that can go on the same tile as
another object, and at the right height to team with the Hi-Fi cabinet or
chest of drawers. Cabinet closes when turned off. Although this
*was* the original vanilla TV, Maxis updated it for EPs after SS, so there
may be compatibility issues. Let me know when you find out :D
