They exchange glares, then Xtina breaks first, knowing that she really is in the wrong.

"I'm sorry Rainier," Xtina apologizes, rare for her. "I'm going to the new Psychedelic Purr club with my friend Eleanor, would you like to come out with us?" Rainier deflates visibly "Xtina, I have a lot of work to do now. I don't have time to go out."

"C'mon," she urges, "Blow it off & come out. It will be fun." Rainier shakes his head. "I have to work, Xtina. Go out & play."

Xtina meets Eleanor at Psychedelic Purr to check out the club's remodel. The place looks totally different, much cooler than before. Xtina tells Eleanor what happened between her & Rainier today.

"He's so serious about everything, he never lightens up, and he's always working on his stupid programming," Xtina complains. Eleanor doesn't say much, just listening as Xtina goes on.

"I was thinking you guys should have a party or something, at your house. It would be great if you could all meet Rainier," Xtina says. "We'll probably do something soon, before my parents come to town," Eleanor says, and then she says that if by any chance Xtina should meet her parents during their visit, she can't mention Justin. "God, Eleanor, it can't be that bad that you have to lie them about Justin?" Xtina says in disbelief. Eleanor has told her so little about herself, most of their friendship is based on Eleanor's willingness to listen to Xtina talk about her own problems & triumphs. Eleanor sighs, "They're very judgmental, and the first thing they ask my friends when they meet them is where they go to school & what they major in. You can't tell them you dropped out, either, Xtina. They'll think you're giving me ideas." Xtina laughs so hard, rum & coke come out of her nose. "You hate my ideas, you'd never take them if I tried to give them to you," she quips, finally getting a laugh out of Eleanor.

The Psychedelic Purr club also took over the space where the small art cafe used to be. With so many Starbucks in the area, it couldn't survive. But Xtina has so many fond memries of hanging out with Gavin there. How strange it is that the space is now the club's bubble room...
