They get a drink & play some pool at the Good Luck club.

Sort of thinking out loud, Xtina mentions that she's becoming interested in computer game graphics. Of course it is talking to Rainier that has sparked the idea, but she doesn't expect Coby to know what Rainier does for a living, when he can't even remember his name.

But Coby seems to sense that Rainier was introduced into the conversation, because he suddenly lets out a tirade against their new neighbor, and tells Xtina he doesn't like the way he looks at her. And then his phone rings, the one he says is only for surf & snow information. The conversation is short & Coby talks very little. But Xtina understands from it that Coby is going somewhere.

Coby's look as he caresses her face melts her heart. He's going to some big deal surf contest at 'Mavericks', whatever that is, she gathers it's out of town, because he'll be gone for a few days. Well, he invites her to come along, but they both know she wouldn't be happy on the beach all day, so he doesn't seem surprised or hurt that she doesn't want to go.

He looks into her eyes, his finger stroking her cheeks, her chin, "I can see what you're going through, Ti, you like this guy, you don't know what you want to do with me. So now you have a couple of days, I'll be gone, and you can decide if you want to break my heart. Just make sure you do it so we can still be friends, okay?" he says to her, his voice hushed. Hot tears start falling down onto her cheeks, and he kisses her, like it's for the last time. He knows her so well.
