Ulises

Heather displays he talents that evening, singing & playing her old acoustic guitar as they toast marshmallows around the campfire. He's glad to see Amber has made a new friend, for she is usually a very solitary child and he's never heard her speak of having any friends.

He never imagined he'd actually have a family of his own, but now that he does, he makesthe most of it. He was younger than Amber when he lost his own parents, his memories of playing withhis father are dim at best. But some things just come instictually.

After they put Amber to bed for the night, he takes Heather out for a little wine tasting. This is wine country after all. With the housing prices in L.A. skyrocketing over the last few years, he was actually able to sell his condo for five times what he paid for it, and, flush with cash, he has huge plans for investing that profit into Heather's house in Topanga. As they discuss his ideas, Heather says she'd like to grow grapes & make her own wine.

He's absolutely all for any expansions she wants to make to her garden.

"Let's dance," he says, noticing the old jukebox in the corner. When he's an old man, he thinks, some of his fondest memories will be of dancing with Heather.

"I love you," he whispers in her ear, holding her close as they settle into a slow groove.
