The wedding day approaches & Ulises is more than ready. His own tux is is taken care of, he's got the honeymoon booked, he's invited his aunt & uncle & their immediate family & he's even made sure Heather & her brother are ready too. Then, to top off all his hapiness, he gets a promotion, he's a lieutenant now, no more vice squad, no more late nights & coming home in the darkest hours of the morning. Heather dances with him in celebration.

Life is just too good right now......

The wedding day comes at last. He introduces Heather to his family, and they are all impressed with her beauty, her good-natured charm & her flawless Spanish. Heather in fact has been speaking more Spanish than English since he met her, though he still uses mostly English, occaisionally sliding back into the Spanglish that he, like many Latinos who grow up in Southern California use. But Ulises is long past trying to figure Heather out, why she does what she does, he just goes with the flow. As long as he with her, he's happy.

And it was Heather's idea to exchange their vows in Spanish. She says it would mean more to her in that tongue than in English, and he's not going to argue.

After the vows come the rings.

And then the kiss.

And then some more of that kiss.
