They watch the sunset on the beach & Ulises lights a campfire. "This has been such a beautiful day, Heather," he says, his voice getting softer as nervousness closes on his throat. He's working up to telling her he's a cop now, but he doesn't know quite how to phrase it, without it seeming weird. "I know", she says, smiling as she pops a hot, melted marshmallow into his mouth, burning his tongue, stopping the flow of his speech.

Heather pulls out her old acoustic guitar. She must know every song from Ladies of the Canyon & Court and Spark, and she actually does a pretty good Joni Mitchell. Some random child joins them..so much for Ulises' plans of telling Heather anything now.

Once, the mail carrier put his neighbor's Victoria's Secret catalog in Ulises' box by mistake. He spent an afternoon with that catalog like it was a new Batman comic, going over each page...teddies, corsets, thongs, babydolls, G strings, just the names of the things were exiting, let alone the things themselves. When you have that kind of thing in front of you in the flesh, you don't go making confessions that might spoil the mood. And Ulises is pretty much too tongue-tied to say anything really coherent at this point anyway.

Heather looks better than anything in any magazine & she feels even better than she looks, with skin softer than the silk it's dressed in.

The little scraps of silk & lace fall away easily, revealing the little that was still concealed, & Ulises & Heather make love on the rug. And then again on the bed.

They got an early wake up call so they could go fishing & they get up before the sun rises. "God you're beautiful, Heather," Ulises exclaims, amazed that anyone can look this good at this hour.

He is severely tempted to blow off fishing & get back into bed for more lovemaking, but he doesn't want Heather to think he's only interested in sex now, so he stops at just the kiss before they they take their showers & go fishing.
