Ulises

This Ulises. Ulises is a cop: an LAPD cop to be specific. Like his hero, Batman, Ulises was driven to a life of fighting crime after witnessing the horrible murder of his parents during a robbery. Like his hero, Batman, Ulises has dedicated his whole life to his pursuit of criminals, putting off friends & family while he prowls the streets of L.A., looking to nab the bad guys. Unlike the Dark Knight, however, Ulises doesn't have the personal wealth to buy a BatCave & Bat Mobile & all that BatJunk, so he has to make do with fighting crime from his condo in Burbank.

Here he is undercover at the arcade at the pier in Santa Monica (that's him in the red shirt, playing pinball). He's tracking one Boris Badenov, a mysterious Russian business man involved in some shady schemes, involving pirated videos & DVDs. That's Boris there in the suit, playing Frogger. The woman playing with him is going by the name "Blaze", but Ulises suspects she is in fact Natasha Badenov, Boris' wife & accomplice.

On a hunch, Ulises follows 'Blaze' into Hollywood. He doesn't want to blow his cover, so he keeps that ice cream in his face as he moves in to listen in on her conversation. She's telling this other woman that she needs a ride to the airport. Unfortunately, with all the noise from thre games & other folks, Ulises doesn't hear anything else. Ulises decides to look into this new, third, accomplice back at the police station (Due to LAPD regulation, there are no photos of Ulises at the police station. LAPD are not fond of photos....). He learns her name is Francesca & she hangs out in arcades all over the city. He doesn't learn anything about her connection to Boris & Blaze, and decides to interrogate her directly.

He finds Francesca back at the Santa Monica arcade. As long as he got rolls of quarters, Francesca will let him chat her up all day. He's staying undercover, so he can't question her directly, but eventually she tells him her car was impounded a month ago & since then she's been riding the bus. So she isn't giving Blaze a ride to the airport, that's clear.

That trail was cold...so Ulises goes over to the Crimson Crustacean, Boris' favorite restaurant. Right away, he spots Blaze, aka Natasha, having dinner. Where's Boris? Ulises decides it's worth staying to see if he shows up. He calls his friend Josh & invites him down to the restaurant. Josh is back in town for few months: he's an actor with a minor role in the hit TV series, "Xenophobia, Barbarian Princess", which shoots in Australia. Ever since he's been back in town he's been bothering Ulises, trying to get him to hang out.

It takes forever for Josh to show up. By the time he gets there, Blaze is gone & Ulises is stuck having dinner with his old friend. Josh apologizes for being late & blames the traffic.

While Josh goes on about the time all the guys took that boat out to Catalina & everyone got seasick, ulises is keeping his eyes on Blaze out the window. Boris never shows, however.
