Nico of course would not miss Jackie's going away party. "I saw you in the tabloid," she says to him with a smile." "I saw you, too," he answers, & kisses her.

Jackie's not the only one who saw him in the tabloid...he can't get away from these people even at Jackie's party! Who's letting these people in?

Jackie wants to get away from the crowd, so she leads Nico over to a couch to cuddle.

She tells him about her apprehensions about the tour. For a moment, Nico is no longer in L.A. in a room full of fawning wannabees & grinning somebodies, he is not a pleasure toy for some wealthy libertine, he's just a regular person talking to regular person about normal fears. These kind of moments are very rare when you work in the Industry, and are thus very special.

Jackie wants to make love one more time before she goes on tour. They duck out of the party & get in her limo. She drops him off at his apartment in the early morning. She'll be too busy to call him again before she leaves, but she says she'll try to call while she's on the road.

The next time he does his Weds gig at the Viper Pit, the club owner tells him he saw Nico in the tabloid & with Jackie at her party, & he's giving him the much sweeter Thursday at 9pm gig. It's not a record contract, but it's a step up!
