Moira gets up each morning before the sun rises.

She has to make breakfast for the Arthag family before they get up. Once she feeds them all, she must get Portia ready for school & drive her there. Then it's errands all day until she picks Portia up from school & ferries the child from activity to activity, soccer, tennis, ballet...Then bring Portia home, feed her & make sure she does her homework. Bill & Mercedes eat dinner at home, and they rarely come home before Portia is put in bed for the night. Moira is herself usually in bed before they come in.

Bill Arthag is the wealthiest, most powerful man Moira has ever met, but he has less class than a town drunk, coming down to breakfast in his underwear like that.

Mercedes is in a good mood this morning. She recently had a big art opening in her gallery, which she had Moira cater for her. Mercedes gushes on about how much her snooty rich & famous friends loved Moira's canapes. Well that's all very gratifying, but Moira wants to be more than a servant, she wants to be a real chef, and to get some respect. She didn't even get to go to this party that she had to make appetizers for.

Mercedes has a laundry list of chores for Moira today, including laundry. The cat, Rothko, needs to be taken to the vet. Rothko's usual doctor at the clinic in Santa Monica has opened his own practice in Mar Vista and Mercedes wants her to find it & take Rothko there.
