Mercedes starts her morning in the office of her new magazine 'Arthag on the Art Scene' with her new intern, Eleanor. Mercedes loves college student interns, forced to work for nearly nothing, and considers getting a couple more, if the school will give them to her. But an office is a dreary place to be all day & Mercedes has other appointments, so she leaves Eleanor to sit & answer the phone for her.

She has a couple of meetings scheduled in the Casa Linda Hotel, Beverly Hills. First, she speaks with Joao about the art for charity event she's planning. She wants to use the hotel banquet room.

He raves about the excellent catering her Irish girl, Moira, did for her last gallery show opening, & suggests they use her for the charity event. And he offers use of the hall for free, as a charity to the charity. Mercedes is very pleased by that. She gets the banquet hall for free & all she has to do is make Moira do the catering, what luck!

After talking to Joao she meets with Monica, editor of WhooNoo magazine, to talk about being magazine editors while they enjoy the spa.

The spa here is known worldwide & attracts the rich & famous to its facilities daily. Beverly, the actress from the soap opera "My Life is Mine" joins them for a steambath.

The spa whiles away the morning hours, but Mercedes is here ultimately for her afternoon appointment, and as the time approaches, she checks into her room and has a cocktail from the mini bar.
