Kelly

On the same day Kelly bought herself this new double bed at the local Ikea, she stopped in the nearby mall & bought herself some hot new lingerie, in anticipation of this night. Young & inexperienced, Kelly is full of newly awakening passions which she doesn't quite understand, but that demand satiation. So it's a bit of a disappointment for her that Alison wants to 'save it' for when Kelly isn't so drunk, and she isn't even awake to look at her new cami when Kelly joins her in the bed. But then, Alison does have a point, she thinks sleepily...after all Kelly did fall & break the heel of her boot as she was getting out of Alison's car because she couldn't stand up straight, and she did spill hot choclate all over herself, because she was too wobbly to hold the cup properly....and there is certainly tomorrow. (New bed: The Well Dressed Sim)

Alison wants to go out for breakfast as soon as they wake up: Kelly decides she can show off both her new lingerie & her cooking skills at the same time & offers to make Alison a homemade breakfast. Kelly makes killer omelettes & she rushes down to the kitchen to whip some up. Alison follows behind, and Kelly can feel those green eyes on her as she cooks, watching her the way her cat Tiger watches her fill his food bowl, like she's not going to wait for Kelly to finish cooking before she pounces on the food. Kelly's thrilled to watch Alison clearly enjoy her breakfast, but then she says, "You must have been quite the little wifey, Kelly," in that sarcastic tone of hers that makes Kelly's insides wither, and her little bubble of hapiness is burst.

"Are you insulting me?" Kelly asks, struggling to keep her voice steady. "I'm sorry, Kelly, I didn't mean...." Alison starts a lame apology.

The phone chooses that moment to ring. It's either her parents or Richard, and Kelly wants to talk to neither, so she lets her machine pick it up. It is Richard & he is hungover & loud, demanding that she pick up the phone & calling her all kinds of names he's only starting using recently, as though that would lure her back 'home'...there is never a good time for this kind of crap, by why now, in front of Alison? Kelly's starting to wish she could just go back & start the whole morning over, and say 'yes' when Alison asks about going out for breakfast. How could she think Alison would be impressed with her stupid omelette, or even her sexy lingerie? Alison's eaten the best food & she's probably had all kinds of actresses & models for girlfriends...Kelly feels truly pathetic, and having to listen to Richard's tirade isn't helping her self image at all. "Why don't you ask him what kind of 'wifey' I was," Kelly says to Alison as she picks up her plate & takes it to the dishwasher, dropping the ball in Alison's court, too worn emotionally to care if she picks it up.

Kelly gasps as Alison gets up & picks up the phone. She wouldn't really ask Richard, would she? But Alison doesn't ask any questions: she tells Richard in the strongest, most authorative voice that Kelly has heard since the last time her father lectured her about anything, that if he ever calls & talks that kind of shit again, Alison will personally crawl across the line & shove the phone so far up his ass it will come out of his mouth. And she hangs firmly up on him. Kelly's jaw drops in amazement, she's never heard anyone talk to Richard that way & get away with it, but he doesn't call back.

Alison comes & puts her arms around Kelly...her green eyes are still glowing with rage & Kelly can hear her clicking her tongue stud fitfully against her teeth, which she usually only does when Byron is really getting on her. "I'm sorry," Kelly sighs, sagging onto Alison's shoulders, "He's not usually...," Alison doesn't let her go on "Don't apologize for him, don't ever apologize for anyone," she says to Kelly in a hard tone, but her voices softens as she goes on to apologize for herself, telling Kelly how good she looks, how good she cooks & that what she said was stupid. Kelly's not listening so much to what Alison says, Kelly has realized now that if she ever means to be respected, by Alison or by anyone really, she's going to have to do & be more than just a dog walker & some jerk's ex-'wifey'.
