Waiting around for Moira to call is pretty pointless. Unless his neighbors are lying, she never called while he was in Colorado, and for all he knows, she's already moved on. So he goes clubbing, as usual, and runs into Xtina on the dance floor. He's dancing alone, she's dancing alone. And if you have to dance by yourself, it always looks better to have a friend.

And then he spots Athena from the L.A. Sparks. Man, he'd love to score with a great basketball player like her, and since they are fellow atheletes, he thinks he might have a chance with her...but she's all "Back off, buddy," as soon as he approaches.

He really pissed her off: she even takes off on her friends just to get away from him.

Coby's not going to give up because he got turned down once, but he gets shot down a second time when he offers to buy Athena a drink. He tries to explain how he is also an athelete & that they have a lot in common, but Athena says "I have nothing in common with a slacker snowboarder freak like you. I'm a professional athelete, 'dude'. Not get the hell out of my face before I slap you." Ouch, that hurt!

But Xtina suprises him from behind, saving his ass by talking to him so he doesn't look like a complete loser. "Listen, my car hasn't been working & I had to take the bus down here. If you give me a ride home, I'll make you a late dinner, or early breakfast," she offers. Well, that's an easy choice: she lives across the hall from him, he wouldn't even have to drive an extra block.

On the drive home and while they're eating the meal she prepared as she promised, Xtina unloads to him how depressed she is about breaking up with her boyfriend. She really has it bad for this guy, Coby thinks, glad he's never been so deep in love that his heart was broken by it. His crush on Moira was the worst case he'd ever had, and that is already fading into unimportance.
