Alison

She works like a slave for Byron & he still gives her shit. Nothing is ever, ever good enough for these big time directors. She's used to it on the set and when it's in the interest of creating a brilliant film, she can take it with equanimity, but now he's heaping abuse on her while he's nobbing with his lawyer over dinner, as though the quality of his fettuccine is her problem. As though his brilliance requires perfectly cooked noodles to sustain his creativity. This party is no fun for Alison: she'd really like to go home & take a hot bath, except her 'home' is a shoebox and the bath never does get quite hot enough.

Alison finds Kelly alone on the smoking balcony. Kelly's got to meet a few celebrities milling around: Alison has been too busy to even notice who's around, and she is long past caring about celebrity, now that she's seen them at their worst, throwing tantrums on set & making her job a real pain in the ass. Alison starts to tell Kelly how miserable this party has been for her, with Byron on her ass all night, but as she starts to relate how he called her 'stupid & worthless', her voice catches & her eyes begin to tear. She blames it on the smoke, but finds she can say no more.

"Why don't you come home with me, I've bought a new bed: queen size," Kelly offers. Tonight should be the night, Alison thinks, and Kelly is more than scrumptious in her tarty get up, but she's just so exhausted, emotinally as well as physically, from the long months of work & this hellish celebration of it's conclusion. She wraps her arms around Kelly's hips, gripping fishnet beneath the slippery satin dress, and buries her face in her soft dark hair. "I want you so much, Kelly, baby," she murmurs in her ear & Kelly shivers in her arms "But I just feel like such crap," she continues, sighing, "And I'd really, really like you not to be tanked the first time I make love you," she finishes.

Kelly reaches up & strokes Alison's cheek. "It's okay, Ali, you don't, you know, have to do anything. I'll make some hot chocolate & we can hang out." As Alison hugs her, the crowd beneath them bursts into cheers, noisemakers & popping corks. "You shouldn't go home alone on New Years, Alison," Kelly whispers in her ear, "And I don't want to be alone either...." Alison squeezes Kelly tightly. "Hot chocolate is exactly what I need right now, let's go."

"Director's" Commentary: This party was held at a house I designed specifically to be a luxurious Beverly Hills party hall to hold these kind of events in. Joao, who speaks several languages and has managed many five star restaurants & hotels all over the South America & Europe, has now come to settle in Beverly Hills & add his touch of Brazilian flavor to the celebrations of Sim L.A.s rich & famous. He has an 'apartment' on the 2nd floor of this house, with a door from Sim Logical that locks out everyone but him & the butler: the rest of this mansion is all public area: banquet hall, game room & smoking tables on the balcony. (I'm sure that's illegal now, lol) I used the juniper bush teleporters from Sim Logical to summon Kelly, Alison & Byron in their formal wear & poor Ruben in 'High Fashion', lol. The other guests came when Joao did the 'throw party' call, or were walk bys who walked on in. I also used the 'leisure' plant from Sim Logical: it keeps up all Sims needs except for hunger, fun & social, so the Sims just want to party & not nag & whine instead. Joao is the only character I had control of during the 'filming' of the party scenes.
